8th Workshop for Young Composers

Sturm und Klang organizes a workshop every two years for composers completing their studies or beginning their careers. These workshops offer four composers the opportunity to work with the Ensemble over a weekend on a composition written specifically for the occasion, most often for a large ensemble: wind quintet, string quintet, and percussion. The sessions, designed as a practical orchestration workshop, take place under the supervision of a renowned composer. During the workshop, dialogue between the composers, musicians, and the ensemble conductor is encouraged, fostering a period where the works being developed are still open to revision.

At the end of this short residency, the pieces are performed in public concert and recorded.

We will soon be pleased to announce the names of the participating composers and the works that will be presented at this 2027 edition.

Coach: Daan Janssens

Come and discover their musical world at the public concert on April 11, 2027, at 4:00 p.m. at the Maison de la Création – Centre culturel NoH.
