Grand Manège - Namur Concert Hall - Namur Duration : approximately 90 minutes, without intermission

An atypical masterpiece from the early 20th century.

Grand Manège - Namur Concert Hall Rue Rogier 82, 5000 Namur Belgium

A mystical and contemplative work composed between 1919 and 1923, André Caplet's The Mirror of Jesus is inspired by fifteen poems by Henri Ghéon dedicated to the mysteries of the rosary. Structured in three parts—Joy, Sorrow, and Glory—this work for solo voice, choir, and instrumental ensemble combines Caplet's impressionistic writing, his mastery of prosody, and a spiritual commitment of rare intensity.

At the initiative of Julie Vercauteren, soprano and member of the Namur Chamber Choir, this rarely performed work returns to the stage with the Sturm und Klang ensemble and the boys' choir Les Pastoureaux.

A wonderful opportunity to (re)discover a unique work from the early 20th-century French repertoire.
